Shelley R. Naylor, age 48, passed from this life June 14, 2017. She was born in Tucson, AZ, February 16, 1969.
Shelley grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and was very involved in many activities including her youth group, platform diving and fast pitch softball where she was an accomplished pitcher.

Shelley R. Naylor, age 48, passed from this life June 14, 2017. She was born in Tucson, AZ, February 16, 1969.
Shelley grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and was very involved in many activities including her youth group, platform diving and fast pitch softball where she was an accomplished pitcher.

She graduated from Palo Verde Christian High School in Tucson in 1986 and Texas Tech University in 1995. She also earned her Beauty License from Jessie Lee Hair Design in Lubbock, Texas. Upon graduating from College she was the Special Event Coordinator for the City of Lubbock's Park and Recreation department.

In 1997 Shelley moved to San Antonio to work for Alamo Community Group as a Resident Coordinator. Shelley was later promoted to Resident Services Director where she oversaw all learning center programs and staff. In 2012 she became a certified Asset Manager and assisted in guiding the organization's multifamily and single-family developments. For two decades at Alamo Community Group she worked tirelessly to help ensure that people had a safe place to call home and an opportunity to create a better life. During her time in San Antonio she also owned a postal store and a book business.
Shelley loved her family and friends, woodworking, animals, gardening, crafting, decorating for the holidays and helping people. Even in her illness she never lost her sense of humor, strength, dignity or grace.

Shelley is survived by her life partner of 21 years, Starla Curtner, daughters, Sydney and Madison, parents, Jim and Linda Naylor, sisters, Dana Willingham and husband, Jerry, and Jennifer Lund and husband, Aaron. She is also survived by numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved her very dearly.

The Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.
