Mary Louise Travieso Garza beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt returned to her Heavenly home on Monday, March 20, 2017.
Mary was born on Monday, August 21, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to Justo Travieso and Celia (Flores) Travieso. She is an 8th generation descendent of Vicente Alvarez Travieso of the Canary Islands, Spain; one of the thirteen founders of the city of San Antonio, Texas.

She met the love of her life, Ramon Garza and after of brief courtship married and raised four children, Cyndy, Nora, Ray and Roger. Their love story lasted 48 years.

Mary loved to entertain, laugh with family and friends and travel. She could always be found in the kitchen cooking. She was always up for a party and many times was the life of the party. She was full of love, light, energy, and happiness. She exuded kindness everywhere she went and never met a stranger, but nothing in this world meant more to her or brought her more joy than her grandchildren. "Guela" shared a special relationship with each one of them.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Justo and Celia Travieso, and her husband, Ramon Garza. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Cyndy (Thomas Roberts), Nora (Richard Rodriguez), Raymond (Laura Salinas) and Roger. Grandchildren Robbie and Riley Garza, Lucas & Marcus Rodriguez, and Isla Victoria Garza. She is also survived by her sister Evangelina Gutierrez, and brother Justo Antonio Travieso (Elida). Mary leaves behind countless family members and friends who all were touched by her radiant light. No one will forget her great laugh or her beautiful smile.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 6pm-8pm at Sunset Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 11am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3907 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209. A private interment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery for the family.
