Leonides Cantu, Jr., 78, of San Antonio went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 10th. He was born to Leonides and Maurica Cantu on February 18, 1939 in Alice, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that will be dearly missed. He proudly served his country as a First Sgt. in the US Army, serving 3 tours of duty in Vietnam, and was highly decorated.

Mr. Cantu was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Else, and his brother, Samuel Cantu. He is survived by his sister, Hilda Botello;...

He is survived by his sister, Hilda Botello; his children, Eduard Cantu (Amélie), Karin Schwab (Irwin), Rainer Cantu (Sherry), Dieter Cantu, and Dolores Sloan (Barry); nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 20th from 6-8 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, September 21st at 9:00 am at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the American Cancer Society.
